House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) requires United Nations Not the special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, who reapplyed. Rep. Brian Mast, chairman of the committee, is leading the charge against Albanese.
In a letter to Jürg Lauber, chairman of the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), the Commission accused Albanis of failing to uphold the Council’s code of conduct. They also condemned Albany’s comments on Israel after Hamas’s October 7 attack.
“Albanis is unquestionably promoting her position as a special rapporteur of the United Nations and seeking to legitimize it Anti-Semitic Objectsin his letter, the committee wrote. “In her malicious fixation, she even called on Israel to evacuate from the United Nations while comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa.”

The committee not only criticized Albany, but also blasted the UN University, whose leaders “allowed anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism to flourish internally and seemed reluctant to hold on to the worst human rights violations.”
“Francesca Albanese is an undisguised anti-Israel activist who has been bidding for Hamas terrorists attacked on October 7. Her appointment is a disgrace to the United Nations.
UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer praised Congress’ “must-needed” action. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Neuer said Albanese’s re-election would be “illegal” and would call for “consequences” from the United States if she visits the country.

Neuer said in a statement to Fox News Digital, “advance with the reappointment of Albanese.” ”

Albanese, appointed as Special Rapporteur in 2022, was condemned by several governments and faced charges of anti-Semitism. France’s mission to the UN’s response to Albany in an article on X. According to the translation by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the post reads: “The October 7 Holocaust was the largest anti-Semitism of the 21st century. Denied it was wrong. It seems reasonable. This is months after the mission condemns her “hate speech and anti-Semitism.”
Germany forwarded the French statement and said: “To justify the horrible terrorist attacks on July 10 and to deny their anti-Semitic nature is shocking. It is a shame to make such a statement in the capacity of the United Nations and contrary to everything the United Nations represents.”
The Office of the High Human Rights Commissioner did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
