The recently first unveiled Roman soldiers may have worn a unique sun hat whose survival is considered a miracle.
The sun hat is currently on display Bolton Museum in Greater Manchester, UK. It was discovered in 1888 in the archaeological site of the Egyptian city of Irahu.
The accessory was donated to Bolton’s first museum, the Chadwick Museum, in 1911, and has been stored for nearly 115 years.
Ian Trumble, curator of archaeology at Bolton Library and Museum Services, told Fox News that the hat survived due to dry conditions in Egypt.
“In Egypt, textiles are usually well preserved in areas where the ground is kept dry but cannot survive in wet areas Near the Nile River Or in lowlands and valley areas that are prone to flooding, such as the Valley of Kings. ” he said.

“We think Bolton’s role model is always a more complete survival, but now we have protected the protection and we think it is the best role model in the world,” Trumble said.
The hat is made of wool felt, but the exact type of wool is unknown until further testing.
