Firefighter’s cousin who died on 9/11 met a veil poke among New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani He refused to condemn the slogan “Globalization Uprising” during his anniversary ceremony in Manhattan on Thursday.
Mike Weinstein, 61, honors his cousin Stephen Belson, a senior firefighter who died while working to save the people stranded in the towers of the World Trade Center south.
Weinstein called on all politicians to abandon terror and violence, saying that if they refuse to do so and choose not to condemn phrases such as the “uprising of globalization”, they will “invite another 9/11.”

“I know my cousin Steve and many others will agree with me, let’s continue to put pressure on all politicians, including those who have already returned home, to a firm abandonment of terror and violence,” he said. “When political candidates and public officials refuse to condemn global terror and global terror such as ‘globalization”, they are inviting another 9/11, God forbids, and they continue to bring fear to all New Yorkers every day.”
“Enough. Enough,” he continued. “Twenty-four years later, we need all the political candidates, including every potential future mayor, and you know who I’m talking about – this is this great city to fight terror and unite New Yorker. God bless America, brave freedom and homeland. ”

Mamdani refused to condemn him throughout his campaign for the Democratic mayor nomination, and he received the measure in June, although he reiterated earlier this week that he “dissuaded” the language.
He suggested that his position changed after speaking with Jewish leaders and understood the gap between the intention of the slogan and its harmful effects on many Jewish New Yorkers.

Mamdani said earlier this summer that the sentence demonstrated “an urgent desire for equality and equal rights, equal rights in supporting Palestinian human rights” but later clarified that I was using “not the language I used.”
“The language I use and the language I will continue to use to lead the city is clearly an intention based on the belief in universal human rights,” Mamdani said during her NBC appearance.
