Former “Reba” star Christopher Rich resumed his performance seven years after he suffered a massive stroke and was diagnosed with a brain injury.
“I’ve basically been on vacation in the last decade and if someone is going to drag me out of the dark corner of the closet, it’s going to be red-haired,” Reba McEntire said. Entertainment tonight The country star on Wednesday.
Rich will play the local tattoo artist with a twisted sense of humor as he has a stroke and is unable to use his left hand in Mcentire’s new show “Happy place.”
He told US Weekly He is also very happy to play the role of the disabled on the show.

“It’s great to be a disabled person and play a disabled person,” he said. “I hope that when some of them come out, the people I used to work with would say, ‘Okay, let him bring it back. . We can work with him. ‘”
He said that despite everything, he felt “really good”.
“After I had a stroke and a brain injury, it was like I was killed by an atomic bomb,” Ritchie told Us Weekly. “So, it was all traumatized, and it was a difficult reset. After finally leaving the hospital,” , I’m leaving again. My heart survived and I feel really good.”

Ritchie also attributes to Mccentire and Peterman, who brought him out of the house after a stroke.

“I felt so weird to recover from this stroke that I didn’t even want to go out a lot of time, but, you know, they’ve driven me back.” Peterman and Mcentire’s boyfriend and co-star Rex Linn. “They would invite me to parties and party things, football games, yes. I spent a lot of time on her, looking at the Longhorns in Rex.”
“There’s magic here,” Peterman said of the chemistry between three of them.

McEntire also praised Rich for being in front of the camera again after being injured.
She told to the entertainment tonight: “It wasn’t easy for him to come back and do it with a group who knew him, but giving him the courage to do it and make everyone comfortable – he does have a stroke , he is back, which brings such inspiration to others.”

Ritchie added: “I’m ready [quit acting,] But now I’m back to the game. I’m going to get to the finish line. I might have to spread it all over it, but I got there. ”
Rich has said in the past that he suffered an Easter morning stroke in 2018, which made it difficult for him to walk, talk and use the left side of his body.
