Cyclotech is more than just building another EVTOL. It is putting its vision on a unique ring-shaped technology. What’s special about it? All right, Blackbird Demonstrator Designed to test Cyclotech’s seventh-generation 360-degree thrust propulsion system.

Blackbird demonstrators completed development by the end of 2024, with impressive specifications and are currently undergoing flight testing:
- size: About three quarters of the possible flying cars (about 16 feet, 7.5 feet wide, 6.5 feet high).
- weight: Maximum takeoff weight is 750 lbs
- speed: Up to 75 mph
- Promotion: Six electric seventh generation ring machines

Security and redundancy
Safety is crucial, and Cyclotech solves this with a multi-link design. “That’s why we use at Cyclotech with at least six ring machines to ensure that the aircraft can continue to fly in a controlled manner when the engine fails,” Kinsky explained. 360° thrust vector control also allows the aircraft to brake and stop in the air, thereby enhancing control and safety, especially in crowded airspace. Two cyclists along the length of the vehicle can fly sideways without storage, further improving operability.

Bicycles can build compact aircraft, probably half as much as aircraft that use propellers or rotors. This compact design means they can be more easily integrated into existing environments without the need for special infrastructure. Blackbird demonstrators demonstrated the functionality of the seventh generation ring mechanism, providing precise control, vertical takeoff and landing, and maximum stability at various pitch angles (up to 30 degrees when hovering).
