Portland Mayor Keith Wilson reaffirms his city’s commitment to asylum policy after another violent night outside of a local American local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.
Democrat Wilson vowed that local police would not help the ice and said he was working with Portland police to determine the response to the violent Labor Day outside the South Macadam Avenue facility, the latest in a series of ugly incidents at the site in the past few months, as exciting opposition to federal immigration enforcement.

Wilson told Koin 6 News. “This is our sanctuary city goal; This is the governor’s goal. Therefore, you can rest assured that under no circumstances will we interact with or work with ICE. ”
The mayor outlines how his administration coordinates with state and federal allies to manage potential conflicts.
“We are really working with everyone in the city, we are working with Congressional representatives, and we are working to protect our citizens responsibly to protect Portlanders,” Wilson said. “We did a tabletop exercise to determine our next reaction to this overreaction and overreacting.”
