Starting September 9, Porsche and Audi will become the latest non-Tesla brands using supercharged networks. Two automakers announce that some of their owners will get adapters that allow them to charge through NACS ports, Tesla Develop and open To other automakers. The promotion was announced after the Volkswagen Group, which owns Porsche and Audi, which will Implement NACS compatibility December 2023, for Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Boy Scout motors.
Porsche is starting to adopt NACS in a “soft launch” way, existing owners of existing owners Taycan Macan Electric Models must use the My Porsche application to keep free NACS for DC adapters to connect to the Tesla Supercharger network. At this initial stage, drivers compatible with Porsche electric cars must use the Tesla app on Shortpargers, but will eventually be able to charge with the My Porsche app in the “next months.” Like Porsche, Audi E-Tron GT. It is worth noting that Audi said its fourth-quarter E-Tron will currently not be able to access Tesla’s superchargers.
For Porsche, any Taycan and Macan Electric for the 2026 model will include a free NACS adapter. However, Porsche electric vehicles starting with models of 2024 or above will have to buy adapters from Porsche’s online store or dealership, which will be purchased for $185. Porsche and Audi are also working on software updates to show the Tesla supercharger on their navigation systems. While Porsche and Audi now have access to the supercharged network, other subsidiaries of the Volkswagen Group, including Lamborghini and Bentalystill no commitment to adopt NAC.
