Pope Leo XIV announces a 15-year-old computer genius Catholic Church The first millennial saint, and another popular Italian figure, died in his youth throughout his life.
Leo died of leukemia in 2006, Carlo Acutis, and Italian student and avid outdoor athlete Pier Giorgio Frassati died in 1925 in polio in his 20s, and an estimated 80,000 people were at an open-air mass at St. Peter’s Square.
Leo says both of these saints have created “masterpieces” from their lives by devoting them to God.
“The biggest risk in life is wasting outside of God’s plan,” Leo says On his Sunday. The new saints “a invitation to all of us, especially the young, not to waste our lives, but to guide them and make them masterpieces.”
