Philadelphia Philadelphia Manager Rob Thomson conducted a field interview at a spring training match Wednesday, but he didn’t get much talk.
That’s because he looked at his pitcher, Jesús Luzardogive up back-to-back home runs on three consecutive courts.
The Phillies are visiting the Detroit Tigers, Florida, when Thomson puts headphones on the bottom of the second inning scoreless game.

In the interview, Jahmai Jones walked deeper from Luzardo, resulting in a typical home run call from the ESPN crew.
Thomson intervened in embarrassment.
The next batsman Andy Ibáñez followed up with his own home run at almost the same location.
Karl Ravech thought they had a while, thanked Thomson for “sticking” the broadcaster through Jacks back to back. Then Gleyber Torres came to the plate.
Torres also went deep into the left wall, and literally, Thomson was speechless.
For Detroit, it was the second in six innings, repeating the total in the third. The game ended with a 17-7 victory in Detroit.

This is nothing after Luzardo released a 5.00 ERA in the 2024 season, which was injured in just 12 seasons. He Miami Marlinreleased 3.48 ERA in 2022 and 2023. He was originally the prospect of track and field in Auckland.
But after his disturbing 2024 campaign, the Marlins traded him to their NL East rival in December.
Luzardo became the team’s No. 5 starter in a stack rotation led by Co-aces Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler, who finished second in the NL Cy Young award last season with a career-best 2.57 ERA.

Thomson replaced Joe Girardi as the Phillies manager in 2022, and it turned out to be a turning point in their season. They eventually won the pennant.
