Darin SelnickSenior U.S. officials confirmed to Fox News that the deputy chief of staff of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had been removed from office.
Selnick is investigating the same leak probe as Hegseth Aide Dan Caldwell Safely escort the Pentagon. Selnick and Caldwell are both on administrative leave.
According to the Pentagon’s website, Selnik is a retired Air Force official who has worked extensively in the Veterans Affairs organization.
The biography states: “Mr. Selnik uses his extensive government and non-governmental experience to advocate that veterans position service members as life after productive separation from the first day of their uniforms.”

Selnick and Caldwell have worked for veterans in the United States in the past, a group led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Reuters reported that Caldwell was asked for leave for “unauthorized disclosure” as part of an investigation into the Pentagon’s leaked Pentagon documents.
The investigation was announced last month and is concerned about “recent unauthorized disclosure of national security information.”

An official told Politico that the leak was linked to the Panama Canal Plan and Elon Musk’s visit to the Pentagon.

More information about the leak is unknown and there is currently no evidence to connect Caldwell or Selnick to the leak.
