“You walk into that locker room, you have people of different races, people of different backgrounds, different religions, you get a team that loves each other. It’s a big difference. Where they come from, dealing with them, and you end up with a team that loves each other, and I think we miss some of that in our country.”

Lanning, who had been outspoken before, heard the voice again on Saturday condemning the “evil” that led to Kirk’s assassination and the death of child shootings.

“I recently discovered that Charlie Kirk is an Oregon fan, right? I don’t know. I’m suffering for his wife Erika and their children. This evil should never exist in our country, and that’s evil,” Lanning said.

“But it’s equally sad – it seems like every day we’re dealing with some kind of violence that’s going on in our country, whether it’s elementary school students in Colorado or children in churches in Minnesota. I mean, life is important, and I think we’ve lost our view. But I hope the world can learn something from the locker room because we have a bunch of people there and it’s different there.

Lanning also conveyed a strong message to those who disagree on political and social issues.

“Only know this – I love you. I absolutely love you, right? Life is important. Charlie shouldn’t go through it, his family should go through it, it is impossible for evil to exist in this world.”

Lanning then called for gun reform for “patients” and provide more protection for children in schools.

“And we have to continue to identify and point it out and make sure it is absolutely evil. Our children have no reason to worry that we should worry about bringing our children to school. This is the most valuable commodity in our world. They should be protected. The reality is that neither side has much in common.
