OpenAI released an update on the Advanced Voice Mode on Monday, which is its AI voice feature that allows real-time conversations in Chatgpt to make AI assistants more graceful and interrupt users less frequently.
Manuka Stratta, a researcher after OpenAI training, announced changes to the official video released to the company on Monday Social Media Channels.
OpenAI’s latest update is designed to solve common problems with AI voice assistants, and they interrupt users when they stop to think or take a deep breath.
ChatGpt’s free users now have access to the new version of the advanced voice mode, which allows users to pause without interruption when talking to the AI assistant. Paid ChatGpt users – including subscribers to OpenAi’s Plus, Teams, Edu, Business and Pro Tiers – will also get fewer interruptions when using advanced voice mode, as well as improved voice assistant personality.
An OpenAI spokesperson told TechCrunch’s new AI Voice Assistant Paid Users that are “more direct, engaging, concise, concrete and creative answers”.
With great pressure from competitors in the AI voice assistant space, improvements in advanced voice modes will emerge.
