Openai in one Blog Posts On Tuesday, it agreed to buy products to test startups, Statsigand apply for its founder and CEO Vijaye Raji as the company’s CTO.
OpenAI spokesman Kayla Wood told TechCrunch that Openai paid $1.1 billion for Statsig in an all-share deal at the company’s current $300 billion valuation, one of Chatgpt Maker’s largest acquisitions ever.
The acquisition marks Openai’s latest effort to build its Application BusinessHosted by Fidji Simo, former CEO of Instacart, he worked at the company a few weeks ago. Raji will report to Simo and will be responsible for product engineering for Chatgpt (the company’s code for AI encoding tools) and for future applications built by OpenAI plans. The company said bringing Statsig’s in-house experimental platform to product development across the application organization will accelerate product development.
With Raji joining, Openai is changing its leadership team.

Will said his new organization’s goal is to “build the next great scientific tool: an AI-driven platform that accelerates scientific discovery.” Will said he will work closely with OpenAI researcher and former vice president of AI and Microsoft’s distinguished scientist Sebastien Bubeck.
“I was able to do this because the product and design leader at Openai is great, and now Fidji Simo is adding to Fidji Simo, who is CEO of Apps,” Weil said. “Since I joined, Openai’s products have been my life and they are in awesome hands.”
Meanwhile, Openai’s current engineering director Srinivas Narayanan announced in A postal On LinkedIn, he will transition to a new role at the company’s B2B Application Center. Narayanan said he will work directly with Openai’s chief operating officer Brad LightCap, who oversees many relationships with corporate clients.
Openai said the acquisition of the statistics is awaiting regulatory review. Once completed, the company said all Statsig employees will become OpenAi employees. However, the company said in a blog post that the product testing startup will “continue to operate independently and serve from its Seattle office.”
