Marcia Kramer, CBS New York chief political correspondent, interviews Mamdani His public safety planIn cases where people who are emotionally upset, this will deploy mental health workers instead of the NYPD. Critics believe that the plan will be equivalent to “sending someone with a clipboard.”

“My answer is that many of my opponents, mainly Andrew Cuomo, want to debate my own version of myth, rather than the ones I’m actually mine,” Mamdani said. “They prefer to focus on tweets in 2020 than the platform in 2025. They do this because they know our ideas are popular and the directions we are proposing responds to the needs of New Yorkers in ways that go beyond the failed policies they hear from these old politicians.”
“What you really mean is the 2020 tweet – you’ve developed from it, you’ve changed, you’ve changed your perspective?” Kramer asked.
Mamdani agreed, saying past statements “difference to the campaign we are ongoing” and how he feels right now.
