National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Funny Car Driver Ron Capps Arizona Nationals On Sunday.
Capps’ vehicle quickly left the starting line, and in the blink of an eye, his roof exploded. He drove on the dividing line and entered the left back wall. Capps was able to take off the vehicle under his own strength.

The NHRA said he checked the on-site medical team before being released.
“This is an unfortunate first round and we are grateful that @roncapps28 was able to leave and walk away.” Ron Capps Motorsports writes on X. ” @NHRA Safety Safari is there, the security equipment and chassis get the job done. Thanks to our awesome sponsors like @Thenapanetwork and Toyota, we’ll be in Pomona!”
Capps won 75 victories in an interesting car and scored 151 finals. He won three wins and finished four runner-ups in the 2023 season. In 2024, he entered the final round in four games but failed to win.
So far this season, he has entered the final round at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida.
Capps ranked third in the interesting car rankings last year. He is behind champion Austin Prock and John Strengthhe suffered his own horrible crash in June.
