Nick Mangold, New York Jets Center Donald Trump’s Announced an order to hang U.S. flags on government buildings on half-court shelves in honor of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
But Madison is the former home NFL Stars delayed their arrival to the state, and other neighboring towns decided to pay tribute to Kirk, who was assassinated in Utah during his campus event.
Florham Park in Morris County and Summit in East Hanover and Union County have observed the president’s announcement of calling for a U.S. flag to fly in half from Wednesday, September 10 to September 14.

Floram Park Mayor Mark Taylor called Kirk a “great patriot” in a statement to Fox News Digital and said the Borough flag was still in the half as of Tuesday.
“Yes, Florham Park listened to the president’s orders and we still hang flags on the half-court rack to honor the great patriot Charlie Kirk.”
East Hanover confirmed that the town also acted “as announced.” The city of Summit told Fox News Digital that the flag was hung on the half-court flags at the City Hall, the library and the community center on Sunday.
Trump’s announcement came after 31-year-old Kirk was assassinated at a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The married father’s father was hit by a bullet and was later pronounced dead. Taylor Robinson, A 22-year-old Utah resident was arrested as a suspect at the time.
When state and local officials in New Jersey were driving in a government building in Madison over the weekend, pointing out that the town did not comply with the president’s announcement.
“I feel disgusted and sad about my town (Madison) and my state (New Jersey),” he wrote. On X. “This is wrong on many levels…because the American husband and father were assassinated for the right to express freedom of speech.”

Mangold tagged New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and two gubernatorial candidates who fought for successors Murphy, Rep. Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli.

Madison officials issued a statement in response to criticism, noting that the borough simply follows the state’s daily flag identity.
“Last weekend, we received questions about the borough’s lowering of the American flag. Madison’s policy is to follow the daily flag status of New Jersey, which can be found here,” the statement said. “On the weekend, the identity is ‘full-time staff’. Madison’s borough condemns all forms of political violence and rejects hatred in all forms.”
State and local governments are legally not in compliance with the president’s announcement. Fox News Digital has contacted Murphy’s office for comment. Morris Plains Mayor Jason Karr told Fox News Digital that the flag did not lower it to his borough because he was unaware of the president’s announcement.
He noted that while the flag was lowered on Thursday, September 11, it was raised to full staff the next day and throughout the weekend.
“Given the nature of the recent events, the municipality of Morris Plains has not received common notices regarding directives for lowering the U.S. flag. At any time, there is no intention to disrespect the U.S. President or the Kirk family.” “The tragic situation clearly requires lowering the flag and the borough will take immediate action if it is received or communicated to any borough officials.
“I do not support or condone the actions taken against Charlie Kirk in this difficult time and express my sincerest condolences to Erica, his children and his entire family. This unfortunate oversight should not be politicized. At such a moment, it is important for us that both the left and the right should stand under our country under American Eagle in the United States so that our country will continue to be so that our country may continue to be.

“Cecilia and I are saddened by Charlie Kirk’s assassination and passing,” Abbott said. “Charlie’s voice is a beacon for millions of young Americans seeking truth, courage and faith. This meaningless violence has no place in the United States. Our prayers are with Charlie’s family and his loved ones, especially the two children he left behind, especially the two children he left behind. Texas stays with them to mourn and honor Charlie’s enduring legacy.”
