A woman in New York was arrested for conducting unlicensed dental operations at her Suffolk County home without professional dental training.
Yolany Mejia Carranza, 55, is Three counts charged Unauthorized career practice, according to Suffolk County Police Chief Kevin Catalina.
“The investigation began when District 3 detectives received tips from several patients injured in Kalanza, causing severe nerve damage in one case, resulting in partial facial paralysis,” Catalina said in a press conference on Friday. “We think there may be more potential complainants out there and we strongly encourage them to step up.”

“[Prosecutors] I think…I think she has been operating a dental exercise without permission for the last 10 or 15 years,” Carranza’s attorney Aaron Wallenstein told Fox News Digital Numbers.
“You know if this is true [allegations] It’s true – she’s actually working in dental work – I think for any dentist the three complaints in the past 10 or 15 years aren’t the bad proportion of what they claim they’re doing. ”
Carranza was arraigned and released on March 14. She will return to court on April 1.
