Former Vice President Mike Pence Going back to school.
Pence, who served as vice president during his presidency Donald Trump’s The White House’s first term, but later competed with his former boss in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, is joining George Mason University’s School of Policy and Government as a distinguished professor of practice.
The Northern Virginia-based school says Penny will teach undergraduate programs and public-facing workshops starting next spring semester.
The school also said in a Tuesday announcement that the penny will be obtained through a hosted discussion and mentoring program for degrees in political science, law, public administration and related fields.

Mark Rozell, dean of the Schal School, said the former vice president’s “meaning of disciplinary measures and his deeply rooted conservative philosophy provide a principled framework for discussing the role of federalism, separation of power and values in public life.”
“In my years of public service, I have witnessed first-hand the importance of principled leadership and loyalty to the constitution shaping the future of the nation. I look forward to sharing these courses with the next generation of American leaders and learning from the extraordinary students and faculty at George Mason University,” Pence said in a statement.

Pence often ran in the crucial early voting countries in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, his White House bid never took off. He suspended his campaign after four and a half months after he announced his candidacy.
