Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney appears to have validated an assertion from an anti-Israel protester that there is a “genocide” in Gaza.
“Canada always supports civilization. So does Mr. Kaney. However, he did not support Israel, a democracy, and he was fighting against the barbarians of Hamas with just war, but instead attacking the only Jewish state. Mr. Kaney, avoid your unwelcome statements,” Netanyahu wrote in an article on X.

Carney was in Calgary, Alberta, a rally in the crowd, when someone shouted, “Mr. Carney, there’s a genocide in Palestine!”
In response, Carney thanked the protesters and said, “I know, that’s why we have an arms embargo” as the crowd began to chant his name.
Response caused a stir Canadian Jewish Organizationfor example, the Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), which tweeted against Carney’s comments. Cija also criticized Canada’s weapons restrictions on Israel, calling it “dangerous.”
“It’s outrageous to see politicians Fuel Anti-Semitism Through false narratives of demonization,” Cija tweeted: “There is no genocide in Gaza. Otherwise, the claim is wrong. ”

Hampstead Mayor Jeremy Levi, a member of the Canadian Conservative Party, also condemned Carney’s remarks, calling them “shameful betrayal of moral clarity.”
“By standing with a disciple and recognizing the false, slanderous claim of Israel’s “genocide”, he showed that he was not worthy of leadership or respect.”
When asked to clarify his comments, Carney claimed he had not heard protesters say the term “genocide.”
He said: “It’s very noisy. If you’re there, you’ll hear people saying, I hear Gaza, I mean I know what’s going on in Gaza.” Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
