NBA star's sister killed in New Jersey shooting, officials say

elder sister Minnesota Timberwolves Star Naz Reid was shot dead in a New Jersey apartment building on Saturday, prosecutors said.

Jackson Town Police responded Call about shooting sounds Fire opened at the apartment building at about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday. The Ocean County Attorney’s Office said responding officials found a late woman identified as Toraya Reid and had multiple gunshot wounds.

Officials said Shaquille Green, 29, of Jackson Township, was running on a road near the complex and officers were able to detain him without any incidents. Green is determined to date Reid and is later charged with Reid’s death.

Greene was charged with murder, possession of weapons for illegal purposes and possession of weapons, the prosecutor’s office said. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail.

Naz Reid was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, just a few miles from the incident. He went to Rosle’s high school and later played college basketball At LSU. He posted two photos of himself with his sister when he was young in Instagram stories.

“She treats us like our parents,” he said.
