The president was asked about his story at the White House on Monday, but no one seemed to have taken the footage in the Atlantic when asked about his involvement.
“I know nothing about it. I’m not a big fan of the Atlantic,” he told reporters. “To me, this is a magazine that went bankrupt. I don’t think it’s a magazine, but I don’t know anything about it.”
Trump defended Waltz in a comment to Fox News on Tuesday, saying national security advisers would not be fired from the incident.
“He was not fired,” Trump told Fox News. The president said the incident was a “mistake”, although there was no “significance” in the signal text thread.
