The victim was Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old Amherst University student in Massachusetts, R-Kan. Rep. Ron Estes’s intern shot deadly about a mile from the White House on June 30.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the suspect “will face severe justice”, adding: “We hope this provides some comfort to his family.”

It is unclear whether Naqwan Lucas and the prison guard Lucas are related. Officials have not confirmed whether Naqwan Lucas has a criminal record.

MPD provides a standard $25,000 reward for information resulting in DC homicide crimes. In this case, the FBI’s Washington Field Office added $15,000, American Marshal Service $10,000, increasing the total reward of Naqwan Lucas to $50,000.
