MSNBC host and former RNC chairman Michael Steele praised D-Wash’s Rep. Pramila Jayapal, encouraged her to “bring this resistance” as she spoke to people across the country who were frustrated by the Trump administration.

“That’s what I’m talking about,” Steele cheered, encouraging progressive MPs to “bring this resistance!”
Co-host Symone Sanders-Townsend played a part of the editing in one of the town halls and began talking about the Trump administration’s impact.
“We actually started storing tissue boxes in our town hall because people got up, and they talked about what was going on with them, their families and their peers, but they also talked about what it means to the country like this composition,” Jayapal said.
Former RNC chairman Michael Steele argued that while he still sees himself as a Republican, he agrees with Jayapal on the core issues that transcend partisan politics.
The congresswoman claimed that she was recently pulled aside by a flight attendant, and he asked: “When did the United States become so cruel?”
Although she says America has a long and cruel history, she thinks at least one idea is that Americans are working to build “more perfect alliances.” She believes that now, the United States is taking a different trajectory.
“I think what we are seeing now is people worrying that the rate of destruction of these institutions and how they are done is not only destroying people, but the full capacity we play as a country,” she said. “These are key plans, the whole goal here is the capacity to unilaterally cut and burn so that a small group of people can become richer and richer, and everyone else is destroyed in their families.”
And Steele is a Frequent critics In the Republican Party, he stressed that he was “still Republican” and then explained how he and Jayapal shared their purpose.
“This is where I and I are in line, and I think it’s important for the United States to know what this moment is asking for each of us,” he said. “There is a threat before us, a direct threat to our freedom, a direct threat to our freedom, and more importantly, despite us and each of us, despite our differences in policy, we are still protected by Americans. We are still protected by this wonderful constitution, that is, do you or I now include you?

The former RNC chairman further argued that support for resistance now goes beyond partisan political debates about policies.
“So, I appreciate your resistance to the idea that you and I are not worthy of being American,” he said. “You know, it’s not resistance because ‘I don’t like you – I don’t like your position on health care or resistance because I don’t like you where you are in taxes.” It’s resistance because we don’t like what Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Pam Bundy and Pete Heggs do to our country. ”
