Motorola hasn’t fundamentally reinvented the 2025 Moto G stylus, but it is improving important mid-range smartphones. When other stylus-friendly smartphones are $1,300 Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultrathat’s probably what it needs.
The Moto G stylus features a 6.7-inch ultra HD spiral display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 3000 columns. Like the previous Moto G stylus, this year’s model also has a 5,000mAh battery, and Motorola says it should charge for 40 hours at a time. It pairs with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, which is a good upgrade to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Moto G Pettlus.
In addition to the updated internal equipment, the Moto G stylus is safer around water and dust. The phone has IP68 waterproof and MIL-STD-810H certification, which means it covers in terms of dust and rain, but can also be from “nearly 1.5 meters, total immersion in nearly 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes”.
Motorola’s main improvement to the Moto G stylus is to make it faster. The new stylus is “6.4x” faster than the previous generation and can also be used for new Android features such as Circle search And Motorola’s “Sketch-to-Image” can turn graffiti into detailed images of AI.
Despite all these changes, the Moto G stylus doesn’t look like a different new Moto G and Moto G Power Motorola Announced in Januarytextured, faux leather turquoise or bright blue and raises for its camera system. The selfie camera on the front of the Moto G stylus is 32MP, and the rear camera includes 50MP wide, with optical image stabilization, 13MP Ultrawide/Macro and “3 in-1 light sensor”.
The Moto G stylus will be launched on April 17, and will be released on Amazon, Best Buy and Motorola’s websites for $399.99. The phone will also be available in the coming months via T-Mobile, Visible, Wireless, Blunt, AT&T, Cricket, Spectrum Mobile, Consumer Cell, USCELLULAR, USCELLULAR, XFINITY, XFINITY MOBILE, Google Fiber Wireless, Optimum Mobile and Boost Mobile.
