The International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) and MotoGP are adding After the 2025 season. These organizations cite a lack of viewership and a “not yet developed as expected” electric performance motorcycle market.
“Today, we announce the suspension of the FIM Motoe World Championship,” FIM President Jorge Viegas said in a statement. “While the best efforts to promote this innovative category with (MotoGP rights holder) DORNA, the truth is that we have not reached our goal and are not associated with a performance e-bike.”
There are two more games in the 2025 Motoe season. Thereafter, an indefinite interruption began. MotoGP and FIM say they will continue to monitor the industry for efforts when e-bikes become relevant enough to maintain a strong activity schedule again.
Motoe’s inauguration year was in 2019, with only six four-round games throughout the season. At first, it caused some buzz, as the track expanded to 16 eight-round games. However, this was cut by seven rounds in 2025.
Ducati offers After changing Energica Ego Corsa in 2023, in the Motoe course. These e-bikes hit a top speed of 171 mph, and obviously, with enough range to complete a full race. The traditional MotoGP bikes have speeds up to 224 mph.
