Former talk show host Montel Williams downplays the political motivations of suspected conservative activist assassin Charlie Kirk On Tuesday, he said he thought the killer was more motivated by love for his partner.

Williams argued during CNN News Night that suspicious killer Tyler Robinson murdered Kirk last week at Utah Valley University, without politically motivating his trans partner.

Williams told the CNN group: “I don’t believe he is politically motivated. I think it is emotionally motivated. I think it is a downturn, literally, when I speak in this way, I hear my voice – trying to defend his important other ideology, rather than trying to defend some.”

Williams argues that protecting his romantic partner from Kirk and other conservatives’ critical views on the trans movement is the real motive for crime, not his ideology.

“Some people try to make it a thing left, the right thing and what we are really saying – listen to me because I’m going to throw you when I say that – we’re talking about a Lofton kid, a kid.”

He continued: “This is probably his first true love relationship. Someone has demeaned the person he loves.”

He noted that Kirk was killed while answering questions about transgender issues.

“He sat on that building for 30 minutes before firing a shot. Why did he wait until the first word ‘trans’ appears? Then he shot the gun.”
