A hiker in Minnesota is already in Wyoming Authorities said Thursday that the Bighorn Mountains had not heard it again after he sent his last text message to his wife for nearly a month.

“While this is not the result we hope, we hope this will provide families with much-needed peace and closure,” the sheriff’s office said.
Gardner disappeared on July 29 in the Cloud Peak wilderness, where he planned a three-day hike through the foggy Moon Lake area before finally climbing the Cloud Peak.

The sheriff’s office said a professional climbing team climbed the Cloud Peak on Tuesday and began descending on the northern route of the Peak when they set up a high-altitude camp and noticed “a few hundred feet below the ledge”.
The climbers believed it was a backpack and notified the sheriff’s office via satellite. They agreed to postpone the plan and wait for rescue workers to arrive.
When rescuers arrived during the day, they found Gardner’s body near his body, his clothes “very tightly” matching the terrain he climbed, and it was hard to notice.
Gardner’s body was recovered from the hill and was taken home to his family.

The 38-year-old father is the father of two children aged 13 and 11. Cowboys Daily Report. His wife Lauren had previously told the media that her husband had been hiking for more than a decade and loved solo.
“It’s definitely surreal,” she told the media while still conducting a search. “I think, I was shocked and tried to stay strong for the kids. This has never happened in all the years he was out. He knew what he was doing and had the skills. I hope now.”
The Sheriff’s Office noted that the case was awarded to the Greater Horn County Coroner’s Office to determine the daily time, method and cause of death.
“This transition should not be read,” the sheriff’s office said. “We believe Gardner succumbed to the tragic accident we all speculated.”
