At the end of last year, Australia passed Laws prohibiting social media For all people under the age of 16. Now, some of these companies (i.e. Meta, Tiktok and Snap) are not satisfied with one exception: YouTube. It is worth noting that anyone under the age of 16 will need to be part of a family account that provides parental supervision rights using YouTube.

Snap reiterated its peers’ concerns and noted: “The exclusion behavior must be applied fairly and impartially, and all services should meet the same standards.” Meanwhile, Snap believes that this is a messaging service and should not be part of the ban.
