This week, Meta launched the $50 million Meta Horizon Creator fund. The fund will provide Meta Horizon Worlds creators with new opportunities to create, profit and earn rewards. I couldn’t do that when I announced it, but I think it’s worth writing for those who might miss out and might want $50 million. It shows that even if it invests more in AI, Meta has not yet given up on its Metaverse dream.
On Thursday, Meta opened its early visits Metahorizon World Desktop Editor So everyone can start building with advanced creation tools that unlock creativity and accelerate mobile, mixed reality and web architecture in the world.
Meta is expanding Meta Horizon Creator Program (MHCP) includes monetization of other countries and support creators, with the ability to monthly bonuses, sell digital goods and participate in cash prizes for creators competitions. Even if you are not a MHCP member, you can still access advanced creation tools through the Meta Horizon Worlds desktop editor, making it easier for you to build a unique experience from the comfort of your PC. The desktop editor has support for typescript to enable complex game logic, custom model imports to upgrade the world’s loyalty, and optimization tools that can help you maximize performance across multiple surfaces.
The desktop editor also comes with Gen-AI features (available only in the United States), such as sound effects, ambient audio generation, and typescript generation to help you make your imagination faster than ever. Today, users can discover and interact with the world of creators in Meta Horizon and Facebook mobile apps. This growing mobile audience shows how to explore, compete and hang out with others on the go. That’s why Meta has launched the $1 million mobile creator competition available to all MHCP members, along with additional incentives to reward the success of the mobile world.
Starting March 11, 2025, the competition will be themed “Mobile Genre Showdown” and will reward 30 talented creators to build innovative mobile experiences at Horizon Worlds.
