RN.D. Rep. Julie Fedorchak condemned the “out of control” violence in the country’s capital and revealed that a group of young people on the streets attacked her Washington, DCBefore the Trump administration takes over.
Fedorchak was a conversation with reporters outside the Capitol building during a press conference of the Republican Research Committee (RSC), and Fedorchak was the only member. House of Representatives Republicans from North Dakota agreed that Congressional action is needed to ensure the safety of DC.
She said she herself was attacked in the wide daylight near DC’s Naval Court, a block just minutes’ drive from the Capitol, a popular community for members of Congress and staff. The community is also home to the National Baseball Stadium.
“DC is a beautiful city, it’s an amazing city, it’s the best capital in the world. But that’s not safe. We all know that,” Fedorchak said. “Crime in our country’s capital is out of control. If DC is a state, the country has the highest homicide rate.”

“I actually felt myself in a very small way lately.” “I walked the street near my apartment in July and Navy yard, not far from home, and I felt a little difficult impact behind me. It was spacious daylight. I was shocked. I was on the phone at the time, and like what happened, a group of teenagers were anxious to ride a bike, I turned around and it was hard for me to turn around until it was caused by a lot of plastic.
“It’s a small, small event now. I’m not hurt, but the young people who did it have a zero-damage fear of the consequences with reckless abandonment.” “After that, they gathered in a circle not far from me and sat there and laughed.”
Fedorchak said the attack was just another example of how the crime was out of control in the city with no consequences.
August, President Donald Trump The lawsuit Section 740 of the District of Columbia Housing Domination Act puts the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) under federal control in response to violent crimes in the city. One of the reasons the president cites was the prevalence of violent youth gangs that terrorized residents on the streets of Washington, D.C. in early August, when a front porch worker named Edward Coristine was violently attacked by a group of DC youths and bleeding from the street. “The United States is the greatest country in the world. There is no reason why our capital should have a higher rate of violent crime than some of the most dangerous places in the world,” she said.
“Many colleagues at the other end of the aisle mistakenly claim that DC crime statistics are at a 30-year low. But let’s remember that crime is not only about statistics. It’s about people.”
She noted that the recent killing of 21-year-old Congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, who was killed in a driving shooting in the Northwest District of Columbia in June.
“It’s about the intern who sent her child to one of our offices this summer and never see him again. It’s about all the families who commit crimes in this city. It’s about the metropolitan police coalition, they agree that they are too thin, they have no resources and no resources to take care of the crime in this city and take care of a safe environment in this city.
R-Kan. Rep. Ron Estes, whose office Tarpinian-Jachym, had an internship with him when he was killed, also praised at a press conference, calling the murder a “meaningless crime.”
“To this day, Washington, D.C., police have not addressed that…that’s why I commend President Trump and his work in making sure we do have safe capital.”

“Yesterday, I was able to walk around the Naval yard with my daughter and it was great to see the National Guard patrolling there,” he said. “It’s a safe environment for people to hang out. It’s great. There’s a family there to have a birthday party for one of their children.”
At the press conference, R-Wyo. Rep. Harriet Hageman announced that Congress will take greater control of the DC to ensure the city remains safe for residents and visitors.
“In 1973, Congress passed the District of Columbia Autonomous Reorganization Act to grant DC limited domestic rule, also known as the Family Rule Act. In the Domestic Rule Act, Congress reserves the right to exercise its constitutional authority as the legislature of the region at any time, including the review and block local legislation in the region. It has become a necessary power over Congress.
“Why? Because the District of Columbia City Council is seeking to exercise its authority, not for the best interests of its citizens or the wider community, but for political purposes.” “For years, the City Council of Washington, D.C. has not only prioritized left-wing policies and programs, but has intentionally tried to hide their activities from Congress. But it is a new day for Washington, D.C., which intends to assert its power again to ensure that Washington, D.C. correctly reflects and represents this great national and international stage.”
“Now, Congress must take the next step and use our article One Power,” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger R-Texas.

“When local governments fail, we can’t and won’t allow DC to fall into the hell landscape again,” he added. “Action is our constitutional obligation. Congress has a clear constitutional authority over DC and we will not hesitate to continue using it to continue to make DC safe and great again.”

At another press conference, also held elsewhere in the Capitol, Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.) also commented on Trump’s DC crackdown. He downplayed the success of the repression, claiming that “every area of every criminal activity” was “on the way before the National Guard arrived.”
Jeffries suggested that the crackdown was “the result of Donald Trump’s attempt to find a way to change the topic given his profound unpopularity.”
He said he did not support Congress’ expansion of the emergency declaration to allow the Trump administration to continue its crackdown.
