A Maine school district is following the current federal definition of Title IX and banning biological trans athletes from girls’ sports State Government Fight Enable trans inclusion.

MSAD #70 principal Tyler Putnam told Fox News Digital that due to this vote, he is now instructed to modify the region’s policies to prevent trans athletes from participating in women’s sports.
“The motion directed me to rewrite our policies to comply with the motion. This is my explanation that the school board will seek to approve policies that align biology with its specific sports teams, i.e., the same biology males, who can only play with other biology males, and for biology females, will be the same policies. These policies will be approved by the Policy Committee.

MSAD #70 is headquartered in Hodgdon, Arostook County. It is the northernmost county in the state and voted for President Donald Trump in the November election. The county also voted for two Republican state senators and seven Republican state legislators.
Now, the county’s school district will join Trump and his Republican lawmakers in the ongoing battle of inter-athletes in the women’s sports.
Putnam told Fox News Digital that the district has no communication with state authorities, including the Attorney General, the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) or the Maine Principal Association (MPA).
“We have not communicated about this particular motion. Our board is similar to many people in Maine and has been communicating back and forth between the federal government and the state. We hope both sides work together to help us with local school districts like us,” Putnam said.

The number one priority for the board and staff is to provide our students with an education that will have a positive impact on their future in our great state and country. The state is currently facing enormous federal pressure to comply with Trump’s February executive order banning trans athletes from entering the girls and women’s sports, but has firmly violated the order under Mills’ leadership.
Maine was transferred to the Department of Justice twice last month and faces federal funding frozen by the USDA

The lawsuit has been tried in Rhode Island District Court.
In addition to the incident involving Greely High School pole bragging, other instances have affected multiple girls across the state who have to compete with biomas and share locker rooms.

Maine teen Cassidy Carlisle told Fox News Digital how she shared a locker room with trans students during middle school. She then had to compete with another trans athlete who skied Nordic last year.
“The failure that happened at that moment was heartbreaking,” Carlisle said. “I was just shocked to some extent. I don’t believe it. … I don’t think it’s happening to me.”
