Newsday, a daily newspaper serving in Long Island, New York, said for a “insensitive and offensive” editorial cartoon that quoted the tragic assassination Charlie Kirk After inspiring the call for boycott.
Kirk, one of the most influential political organizations in the United States, was killed during an event at Utah Valley University in Orham, Utah. The editorial comic appeared in Saturday’s newspaper with an empty chair with blood under a tent marked “Charlie Kirk” and “prove me wrong”, while an arrow marked “Turning Point USA” points to the empty seats.

“Newsday published a co-editor comic on Saturday referring to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, which is insensitive and offensive. We deeply regret that we sincerely apologize to Charlie Kirk’s family and everyone,” Newsday said in a statement.
“We made a mistake in our judgment. The cartoon has been removed from our digital platform. In his illustrations, Chip Bok uses Kirk’s organization, the name of Turning Point USA, and the theme of his Utah incident – “Prove I’m wrong” – to suggest that Kirk’s assassination could be a turning point in recovery,” the statement continued. “These images are inappropriate and should have been published on News Day.”
The apology was conducted under widespread opposition Social Media.
Suffolk Republican chairman Jesse Garcia exploded the paper, saying it “crossed a line” and demanded the removal of “evil cartoons.”
