Little girl discovers 3,800-year-old amulet with ties to Biblical people during family trip

On a family trip last month, an Israeli child discovered the proportion of the Bible.

The Israel Antiquities Administration (IAA) reported on Monday that on March 3, 30-year-old Ziv Nitzan met a Canaanite 3,800-year-old in March. According to the Old Testament, the Canaanites were primitive inhabitants of the Levant and were descendants of Canaan, the grandson of Noah.

Ziv’s sister Omer Nitzan told the IAA that her family was walking along Tel Azeka, the hills of the Jewish foothills when the 3-year-old boy discovered the artifact.

“We walked along the path and Ziv bent down – from all the stones around her, she picked up this special stone,” said the proud sister. “When she rubbed it and took out the sand from it, we saw something different. I called my parents to see the beautiful stone and we realized we had an archaeological discovery!”

The discovery dates back to the mid-Bronze Age and is reported immediately to the IAA. Dr. Daphna Ben-Tor said the holy abs are used as seals or amulets.

The picture shows the well-preserved scarab with the shape of a dung beetle, which was considered sacred in ancient Egypt.

“It is a symbol of new life because it creates the feces, and then puts the eggs in it, and the new life will hatch,” the IAA explained. “Its name in the Egyptians is derived from the verb ‘established’ or ‘created’. This is because the Egyptians regard the Holy ac as a symbol of the incarnation of God, the Creator.”

Ziv Nitzan received a certificate of appreciation for his efforts. Tel Aviv University professor Oded Lipschits thanked the discovery and told the IAA that he had been digging Azekah for nearly 15 years.
