Senator Lindsey Graham said President Trump believes the shooting death of Charlie Kirk is a direct attack on his campaign to make America stand out.
“Charlie Kirk is one of the top three figures in the country, and he won in 2024,” Graham said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “And I think President Trump sees it as an attack on his political movement, what he created.”
“A year ago, people tried to shock his head. It wasn’t for me. “It was unique and different.” This is through the use of violence to attack the movement. ”
Mr Kirk played a leading role in helping rally voters in the polls in the 2024 election, and he worked to zero in to win young voters.
Mr. Kirk continued these efforts Wednesday when he was shot dead while debate members of the debate crowd who appeared on the Utah Valley University campus.
Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested for the shooting and will be formally prosecuted in court on Tuesday.
Mr. Graham urged Americans to reject political violence.
“If you are offended by what someone says or does, you’re grabbing the political cause and fighting, not guns, not bombs, not knives,” he said.
Mr Graham said, “The radical left has kept the radicals of the Magma movement working.”
“President Trump is not only the president of the United States. He is the leader of the movement,” he said. “Charlie Kirk is his chief lieutenant.”
“Many people in the magazine movement see this as an attack on the movement, not just traditional political violence,” he said. ”
