Lightspeed StudiosGlobal game developers said at GDC 2025 that it reveals the “original IP plan,” a new strategic focus centered on developing the original game title.

Lightspeed Studios’ gaming industry veterans took the stage at GDC 2025 to reveal plans for its decisive focus to create the original IP.

Steve C. Martin will unveil the update of Lightspeed La, which develops the highly anticipated Triple-A open-world action game Last Sentinel, while in parallel legendary game developer and head of Lightspeed Japan Studio Hideaki Itsuno, he will reveal that he has begun leading the new, unnominated original Triple-A Action-A Ection-a Ection-a Intir-New New New New New New New Name-Aiment-A Original-A Action Game. Both are projects that mark Lightspeed’s next chapter dedicated to creating the original game title.

Realizing that innovation drives player engagement, Lightspeed is promoting its approach and announces its commitment to empowering a self-sustaining independent regional studio network that will focus entirely on developing original cross-platform titles.

Known for its partnership with the established game title Pubg Mobile (co-developed with Krafton, Inc.), Lightspeed strategically expands state-of-the-art development facilities around the world to support original game development.

This strategy enables its development studio to include, in particular, the newly formed Lightspeed Japan Studio Lightspeed La, as well as teams around the world, a direct pipeline of Lightspeed Studios’ centralized technology resources. This includes Lightspeed’s latest R&D breakthroughs that push the boundaries between graphics and performance towards realism in the game, as shown in the workshop during GDC 2025.

Building on this approach, legendary game director and head of Lightspeed Japan Studio Hideaki Isuno revealed at GDC 2025 that he is entering the arena and entering the early stages of bringing his visionary Triple-A game champion into life.

Using his extensive experience to guide the game and build an incredible team at Capcom, this has led to the outstanding success of Capcom Alpha series Capcom vs Devil May Cry. SNK and more iconic gaming champions, Hideaki is ready to adopt the same principles of creative freedom, efficiency and humility to form a remarkable team and create something truly groundbreaking.
