About FBI Director Kash Patel Charlie KirkSenate Republicans seem ready to support him.

Patel should have held on the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold an annual oversight hearing on the FBI Tuesday morning, but for him, the timing was at a critical moment as the review reviewed a wave of shootings from the agency and handled an investigation into Kirk’s alleged killer.

FBI management has a new face – former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who was sworn in on Monday Dan Bongino.

But Senate Republicans of the Judiciary Committee intend to view Patel’s track record for the entire record over the past nine months, and they show they are still confident in him.

Senate Judicial Chairperson Chuck GrasleyR-Iowa told Fox News Digital that he was just planning to talk about oversight of the FBI at the hearing.

Asked if he thought Patel should be reviewed, Grassley said: “Well, that’s why we do the oversight hearings, we do it once a year.”

Senator Dick Durbin, the top Democrat in the panel discussion

Doubin said it was unclear what impact Said would have on the investigation, but he pointed to her long career and professional counter-terrorism.

“We do know that Patel, the man who drove her out, quickly went to social media and mistakenly announced the suspect was detained,” Doubin said on the Senate floor. “Remember? Just forced to back off soon.”

Patel’s post on X within hours of Kirk’s murder fell under the microscope again, writing: “The subject of the horrific shooting that suffered Charlie Kirk’s life today has now been detained.”

But the individual and another person were arrested and released about 33 hours after the shooting, before law enforcement was arrested by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Patel criticized his performance in a appearance on Monday at Fox & Friends, where he argued that his position was intended to drive a push for transparency.

“I’m transparent in working with the public,” he said. “Can I speak better in the heat of the moment? Sure. But, do I regret throwing it away? Absolutely not.”

Committee member R-Mo. Senator Josh Hawley told Fox News Digital that there will be “a lot of things to learn” at the hearing, but still seems to support Patel as director.

“You know, my point is, listen, he serves the President’s honor,” Hawley said. “If the President has confidence in him, then I think, that’s enough for me.”

About Hawley’s opinion, President Donald Trump Still seemingly backing his embattled FBI director.

“I’m very proud of the FBI,” Trump said Saturday. “Cash – and everyone else – they did a great job.”

RN.C. Senator Thom Tillis and panelists said he was sure that “a lot of people would watch the shooting” but he believed his focus was Patel’s entire tenure with the FBI — the support he received during the nomination period, and he still supported him.

When asked about Patel’s performance during the Utah survey, Tillis thought: “These things are fluid.”

“I saw a lot of armchair quarterbacks in the day, I saw a lot of armchair quarterbacks, or quarterbacks on Monday morning,” Tillis said. “Can they be closer? People ask for updates.”

“I mean, if the only thing they criticize you is talking about potential suspects or people who are interested, it’s weak. Going for more foundations.”

senator Cory BookerDN.J. said that given Patel’s social media posts and guidance from the agency, he believes it will be “a very important hearing tomorrow.”

“[It’s] Booker told Fox News Digital that even the lowest level Comms directors know this. You don’t push out wrong information in your investigation, but stick to the facts, which is very disappointing. I think it shows that he is that kind of leader. ”

He continued: “I am also more concerned about FBI officials who were fired for no reason now. “And then, in the end, he actually undermined the ongoing investigation to ensure Americans are safe. ”
