Karen Read The second murder trial will enter its first weekend, without fully sitting in a jury, spending days in the court reviewing dozens of candidates, many of whom have become aware of the high-profile case after the first trial after her Boston police boyfriend, John O’Keefe.
The Beverly artillery judge relaxed the parties on Friday around 4:30 p.m. four days after the jury selection, which began Tuesday, with dozens of potential jurors telling the court they had heard about the case and made comments.
Ten jurors were selected from the expected total of 16, 12, and four other substitutes were selected. The process resumed on Monday morning.
The jury’s choice is expected to be a key aspect of the trial in the event of jurors being in a deadlock without a verdict.

She is one of the people who found him dead on the front lawn of Boston policeman Brian Albert on the morning of January 29, 2022. The area has been overnight with a snowstorm and autopsy has found evidence of head trauma and hypothermia.

Prosecutors claimed that after a drunken fight, Reading returned to O’Keeffe and drove home, leaving him dead in the cold.
She denied the charges and pleaded not guilty, and her defense counsel pushed the idea of others killing him, dragging him outside and leaving him there – read it as a scapegoat to cover it up.

“In cases like this, the jury selection process takes a long time because you have to carefully exclude jurors, who may have subtle bias or opinions, which can lead to jurors being unpopular,” he told Fox News Digital.
