John Feinstein, is one of the first country sports writers and author of many books best books, died unexpected Thursday. He is 69.
Feinstein died of natural reasons for his brother’s house in McLean, Virginia. Robert Feinstein said he knew John’s body.
Feinstein is a full-time repository for Washington Post from 1977 to 1991 and a commentator for outlets such as NPR, ESPN channel. He remained with the post as a columnist contributing, and he also hosted satellite radio programs in Siriusxm.
“She was very happy with things,” Robert Feinstein said. “People love him or hate him – and in a strong way.”
John Feinstein worked until the time of his death. He was in Washington this week to cover Atlantic 10 Tournament, and he Submitted a Wednesday column for post In Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo.
Feinstein is comfortable writing about a row of sports, but he is the most well known college basketball connection because of his ordered book, “a time in the room.”
Feinstein took loss from post in 1985 to embed with the Inniso team at the coach Bob Knight, and the book promotes the writer’s flair for author’s personalities.
Knight’s reputation for having a warm indignation was then established, and took it to Feinstein. But Feinstein also shows personal relationships with his players’ knight, which can be replaced between hot and abusive.
He continued to write more than 40 books, including “good walks damaged” (1995), about professional golf, and “a civil war” (1996), about the Army-Navy football game. After the book publication, he worked for many years as a radio commentator for Navy Football.
“Kara is eight,” about the avy league football, published last year. Feinstein also wrote sports novels directed to young readers.
Feinstein survived his wife, Christine, son Danny and daughter Brigid and Jayner, as well as Robert and his brother Margaret.
