Simpson, who Separate from husband Eric Johnson Earlier this year, she was busy creating her latest music project, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, which released five songs of Soul and Rockabilly fusion on March 21.
“Since I found this kind of music was something I did myself,” Simpson recently told People magazine. “Thank God, I have Nashville, it’s just a way for me to own myself and announce it.”
Simpson described her first single, “To Me with My Heart” as “a sexy song to write.”

“I woke up in my head,” she said. “It’s kind of a desire for someone I want again, and you don’t care if your heart is being used against you – if it’s just one night.
She continued: “I don’t necessarily want to be writing this record. I’m in another place.”
