The Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos says the editor of the paper opinion “has decided to go away” as the section has a new direction that focuses on “personal liberties.”
Bezos, the founder of Amazon, announcing changes to X.
“We will write each day to support and protect two pillars: personal liberty and free markets,” he wrote. “We will also cover other subjects, but the views opposed the pillars will be left to publish others.”
Bezos explained that now the internet consists of work that the newspaper mental sections at the moment do – consist of opinions at all views.
Bezos said he offers David Shipley, the opinion of opinion on paper, the opportunity to remain in the rudder under the new editorial direction, but he refused.
Shipley has set the section since 2022.
“I suggest him that if the answer is not ‘hell yes’ then it should be ‘no.’ After a careful consideration, David decided to go away. It was an important transition, it would not be easy, and it would require 100% commitment – I respected a new opinion editor in the new direction, “Bezos said.
