Winston joins the Browns as a substitute Deshaun Watson After spending the first four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. After Watson’s injury at the end of the season, he took over as the starter, playing in 12 games and starting in seven games.
Winston recorded 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and set a franchise record when the Browns threw 497 yards with four touchdowns in a 41-32 loss against the Denver Broncos in Week 13.

The Giants’ move to sign Winston is the group’s first step in repairing a troubled quarterback room. Not long after, New York continues to move forward Russell Wilson, One of his one-year deals is reportedly worth up to $21 million.
“I want to be a starter and be able to rock here every day,” Wilson said. “I think this team is really looking for someone to lead them in various ways – in the process, offseason, seasons, our habits and our thinking process and how we create a great victory culture.”

That being said, New York has not closed the quarterback issue yet.

With the third-placed draft pick in the draft later this month, the Giants are still expected to explore the possibility that drafting another quarterback could solve their long-term problems.
“The face of the franchise is quarterback,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday at the annual NFL spring meeting. “It’s not an easy position to evaluate it. Coaching is not easy. It’s not an easy position. You can do your best and try to find the right job for your team.”
