iPhone 17 Pro hands-on: The unibody and camera plateau feel more significant in person

Surprisingly no one, Apple has New iPhone 17 series launchedinclude iPhone AirCEO Tim Cook said the company has released the company, making professional mobile phones the most important career ever. At Apple Park, I was able to give a high-speed hands-on demonstration of the iPhone 17 Pro and made a straight line for the new Cosmic Orange model. I’ve really loved the look and feel of it and don’t even mind the new camera plateau, but maybe it’s just because I’m the fool of changing.

It can be clearly shown that this is not a shining new thing. Stay away from it. Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro I use, the iPhone 17 Pro I use is an orange version, which has a matte effect and a fuzzy “soft touch” feel. Despite the new all-in-one design, the camera control button on my right is still quite easy to press, although I think I’m more used to the camera control button on the iPhone 16 Pro and find it easier to click it at this moment.

More importantly, this is what I had to spend over an hour on the iPhone 17 Pro to verify, and the redesign should help with battery life. The Camera Plateau now houses many components that can release the rest of the iPhone body for the battery. Together with the increased power efficiency of the A19 Pro processor, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max should last longer than before.

By the way, only the lighter orange round rectangular section on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro is covered with ceramic shields. The rest of the metallic orange drill bits are aluminum integrated housings. This means that the camera plateau was also discovered. It contains three 48 megapixel fusion cameras described by Apple in the keynote, and I can verify that I saw up to 8x camera zoom options in the viewfinder.

I also had the opportunity to quickly check out the new Centerstage selfie camera, and I have to say why Apple had to redesign the camera app with iOS 26. To enable new features such as automatic rotation aspect ratio or dual-type video capture, you must dig deeper into the menu. I don’t know where to find these switches, but I’m sure I’ll learn over time. Currently, a helpful Apple representative standing next to the phone shows me where everything is.

I didn’t spend much time playing with 4x telephoto zoom or 8x “optical quality” options, so we have to wait until we can review them to see if Apple makes a claim.

Although I’m very happy with the new look and colors of the iPhone 17 pro, I have to admit I’m a little envious of my colleague Sam Rutherford, who has to spend some money Fight with the new iPhone Air. While the color is not attractive on that line, the extreme thinness is certainly very attractive. In my limited experience, the iPhone Air has a slightly rounder edge than Samsung’s ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, but you should definitely check out Sam’s impression for more details.
