Apple announced the new Thin iPhone 17 Air on Tuesday at its annual hardware event. The company said the device will provide ESIM support worldwide.
Apple managed to stuff a lot of the technology into the 5.5mm thick design, but at the expense of solid simulation trays.
The company chooses to abandon physics Sims ESIMS for iPhone will be sold in the United States in 2022.
“We pioneered the groundbreaking nature of ESIM a few years ago, and now it is an industry standard, by comparison, for decades of plastic, ESIM is very easy to use, has better security and saves precious space inside the iPhone. ESIM is also very suitable for travel,” Apple said during his time at Keynote.
