Last week, prosecutors charged Arroyo with 12 counts of crimes including attempted murder, deadly weapon attack, weapon destruction and a car crash that left another person injured. Several charges against him have been raised due to the serious bodily injury.
The complaint says Washington state intends to sue Arroyo for assault, assault, negligence and emotional distress, accusing them of trying to escape his violent rampage and they suffered medical injuries in need of treatment.

Washington State said they suffered severe emotional distress due to the incident, including anxiety, sleep, anger and stress. The lawsuit does not specify the physical harm they suffered. They are seeking compensation in excess of $35,000 to be determined at the time of trial.
According to prison records, Arroyo still has no bail. At the trial hearing on Wednesday, Arroyo’s attorneys expressed doubts about the client’s psychological abilities. He plans to appear in court on April 2.
