Williams’ family told local media she said a man had been following her during the days before he was killed. Authorities have not yet identified the suspect’s connection to Williams.
The warrant states that Rivas-Sagastume attacked Williams in Marietta, putting her in suffocation, causing her to lose consciousness sometime between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. on March 12. Fox Atlanta Report. Once unconscious, Rivas-Sagastume allegedly told police that he placed his knees and full body on her neck, causing her death.
The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that Rivas-Sagastume entered the United States illegally on March 17, 2021 and was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol.

Williams’ killings are similar to those of Lake Riley, who was also murdered in Georgia by an illegal immigrant, captured and released by border authorities. He was later convicted of Riley’s murder.
