I want to love Apple’s new iPhone Air, but the iPhone 17 is a better deal | TechCrunch

My husband is a gadget lover. He’s already in his second Folding smartphone – Galaxy Z Flip7 – After Motorola Razr’s first appearance. I’m more of a “convincing me” gadget enthusiast. If I see a reason to be excited, I will join. Otherwise, I will stick to what I have until there is a reason to upgrade. I still remember when Apple brought the touch ID to end password fatigue. I bought one immediately.

I’ve been in the Apple ecosystem for over a decade because my work computer is a Mac and my phone and watching all the work is both practical and helpful. Yes, that’s the definition of Apple’s moat. But I wouldn’t consider myself a fool. As a record, my personal computer (which means that I bought for Job-related uses- is HP Spectre on Windows. I love it.

So, I’m still using the iPhone 13. Just like I like my husband’s phones that fit perfectly in my pocket, I prefer practicality over novelty. But my phone’s battery and touch screen are aging, and the chip is not capable enough to run. The future of Apple Intelligence Artificial Intelligence. So it’s time to upgrade.

Today, I’m preparing Book a new iPhone air. To me, it looks like the best of all the worlds: the larger screen is small enough to fit my little hand, the best chip, only $17 but only $200, but Still cheaper than professionals. I’ve never been a professional user. I don’t shoot Hollywood-Esk movies, and I don’t have a hobby of social media creators, so I’ve always chosen higher prices.

But when I delve into the specifications, iPhone 17 looks better.

Meanwhile, it has a 6.5-inch screen, while the 17-inch 6.3-inch screen is lighter. It also has the A19 Pro chip, not the A19 chip. But strangely, this is different from the Pro chip in the Pro Phone. It has a 6-core CPU with a 5-core GPU. This is similar to A19 in 17. (The Pro model has a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU.)

According to Apple, the 17 also beats the air’s life, which is expected to compare the 27 hours of video playback in 30 hours. While another $99 will be available for the air to buy a battery pack, giving battery life up to 40 hours, the package will ruin the phone’s purpose of lighter and thinner.

Air is using new interesting computing cameras, which means software-powered camera features. This allows a single lens to be like multiple lenses, including a pleasing new feature that allows for front and rear camera shooting at the same time. This is great for shooting how the world reacts, and it has fun! But the air lacks the 48-megapixel fusion ultra-wide lens that 17 has.

The storage options for air are much better – Up to 1TB – but the price. The 1T option is priced at $1,400, which is only $100 less than the Pro’s 1T storage space, and it costs $1,500.

All in all, I want to love my own big screen, lighter air, and if I’m going to treat myself and get a high-end phone, I’ll keep buying professionals.

If the air becomes Apple’s foldable phone, as some people suspectat that time I might throw away my 17 amazing folding iPhones. Until then, 17 still seems to be a better deal for regular Joe users like me.
