AI Dev Platform Hugging Face has purchased pollen robots from a French-based robotics startup in an undisclosed quantity. Wired Report Hug the faces to plan to sell pollen, touch 2, and let developers download and suggest improvements to their code.
Pollen robotics designed to bring affordable humanoid robots to your home was founded in 2016 by Matthieu Lapeyre and Pierre Rouanet. The company managed to raise 2.5 million euros (about $2.83 million) from investors including Bpifraance, According to Crunchbase.
The acquisition marks an expansion of the robot’s efforts to embrace the face, with Pollen closely involved. Last year, Embrace Face and Pollen collaborated on “Le Robot”, an open source robot trained to do all kinds of housework. Hugging Face also built a robotics team led by Remi Cadene, a former robotics engineer who is planned by Tesla Optimus.
