HTC recently revealed that it is launching Viverse Global Creator Program. The program offers 3D content creators a wide variety of projects including interactive narrative, Ecommerce, education and game design. The program aims to address the problems commonly faced by 3D artists and is currently working with more than 100 creators. Applications for the program are currently open and HTC will review them scrolling.
According to HTC, the creator program provides discoverability, simple publishing opportunities and profitability in an environment full of fragmented publishing platforms and closed ecosystems. The company guaranteed installment funds throughout development and release and participation bonuses after case-by-case release.
“For the Viverse Creator program, we are looking for developers with a background in gaming, 3D storytelling, 3D modeling/art, immersive education and brand marketing. There is no need for anyone who wants to have Webxr or Viverse.”
According to Morran, HTC is looking for a variety of content from the world of viverse, including single player experience, multiplayer champion, XR festival experience, asset development and educational experience – for the latter, it commissions multiple educators to build within the viverse. The company’s goal is to bring the creator experience to any platform that uses a web browser.
Moran added: “Our aim is to easily post to the audience of Viverse using any tool already used (i.e., three points, playcanvas, unity, etc.). This reduces the barriers for 3D creators of all sizes, from studios to independent developers, because they can use the tools they want, not to have the job they are familiar with, and what we are not familiar with is our job. None of our creators belong to our jobs. And no specific IP purchase is required.
