There are three inevitable things in life: death, taxation and technology platforms, with design changes that are generally disliked. The latest victim of this phenomenon is the Apple Mail app, which has been redesigned iOS 18. This update is also available on iPad and MacBook.
The new Apple Mail Design divides emails into categories such as main, transactions, updates and promotions. It also provides contact photos for each sender, which is consistent with the company’s new sender Brand Functions For enterprises in the iOS ecosystem.
While some users find the redesign visually unattractive and difficult to navigate, others find that they are more likely to miss important news, which is not ideal.

- First, open your mail app on iOS 18.
- Find the three dots menu in the upper right corner of the screen.

To get rid of contact photos on the iOS Mail app, follow these steps.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen, where you will see a section called the app.
- From the app menu, scroll until you find the mail app (or just type the mail in the search bar to save five seconds of stability – life is short).
- Under the section marked as message list, toggle the read option to display the contact photo.
