First on Fox: James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, asked for answers to the taxpayer costs of illegal immigration.
The letters to eight blue governors and their health departments were a move to get more information on the issue, as the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the Congressional Budget Office spent $16.2 billion on “emergency services funded by Medicaid Funds,” according to the release.
In the letter, Comer requests information about who can participate in the state Medicaid and Emergency Medicaid Programs and lists and costs related to actions carried out by illegal immigrants.
